TEZ Technology Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 28, 2026
Last updated: October 28, 2026
1 Scope and the primary TEZ policy
TEZ Technology (“TEZ,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides software and related services to businesses and organizations operating parking, valet, and related services. These businesses and organizations are TEZ’s direct customers and are referred to in this policy as “Parking Operators” or “Operators.” Anyone using an Operator’s parking, valet, or related services is referred to as a “Patron” (collectively, “Patrons”). Patrons are the Operator’s service users, rather than TEZ’s direct software customers.
This policy applies across the entire TEZ Technology family of products and services and TEZ-operated websites. It explains how personal information is handled in connection with those products, services, and websites, including website inquiries and company communications with business customers, business contacts, and employees. Coverage includes all generations and versions of TEZ’s solutions.
From its effective date, this is the primary TEZ privacy policy for those websites, products, and services and replaces previously published TEZ product privacy policies covering them. It does not override applicable customer agreements or data processing agreements, the independent privacy policies of Operators, or legal obligations. This consolidation does not retroactively authorize uses or disclosures inconsistent with earlier privacy commitments or applicable law.
2 Parking Operators and TEZ
Operators operate the parking and valet services and determine their purposes for collecting and using Patron information. When TEZ processes that information on an Operator’s instructions to provide the software and related services, TEZ acts on that Operator’s behalf as a processor or service provider. The applicable agreement and the processing activity determine the parties’ responsibilities.
Operators are responsible for their own privacy notices, for establishing an applicable legal basis and obtaining any required consent for their collection and use of Patron information, and for their instructions to TEZ. This policy does not govern an Operator’s separate records or independent use of information in systems outside TEZ’s services. Providing information for a parking or valet service does not mean that TEZ directs every subsequent use of that information by the Operator.
TEZ’s own website inquiries, business relationships, and company communications are separate from those Operator-operated Patron services. TEZ remains responsible for its own processing and disclosures under applicable law and agreements; an Operator’s instruction does not, by itself, make a use or disclosure lawful.
3 Information collected and its sources
The information involved depends on the product, service, and interaction. It may include:
- Contact information: Names, email addresses, mobile telephone numbers, and business contact details supplied in an inquiry, conversation, or service request.
- Parking and valet information: Vehicle make, model, and license plate information where collected for the applicable service, together with digital ticket and parking-session details.
- Service and transaction records: Information about the requested service, its status, and related payment notifications or receipts.
- Communications and messaging records: Information provided in support requests or conversations, message content, and records associated with messaging consent, delivery, and opt-out requests.
- Website and technical information: Information about use of web-based services, such as browser or device information, IP addresses, page activity, and information collected through cookies or similar technologies.
Information may be provided directly by you, entered by Operator personnel on your behalf, generated during use of a service, or collected through website and analytics technologies. For parking and valet messaging, Patrons may enter a telephone number directly or provide it verbally to Operator personnel, such as a valet, who enter it into the TEZ Platform to initiate automated operational messages.
Automated license plate recognition (ALPR)
Where an Operator uses automated license plate recognition (“ALPR”) in connection with a TEZ-supported service or integration, the information processed may include license plate readings and associated vehicle or plate images, dates and times, and parking-location or entry and exit records, to the extent those records are provided to or generated within the applicable service. The information involved depends on the deployment; this description does not mean that every location or TEZ service uses ALPR.
Where TEZ processes ALPR-related information on an Operator’s behalf, the Operator-processing role described in Section 2 applies, together with the applicable service arrangements and legal obligations. A license plate entered manually by Operator personnel is distinct from a camera-generated ALPR record. Privacy questions about an Operator-operated deployment may be directed to that Operator, with TEZ assistance as described in Section 10.
4 How information is used
Information is used, as applicable, to provide the requested parking or valet workflow; create and maintain digital tickets and sessions; deliver operational messages and payment notifications; respond to inquiries and support requests; conduct company communications; administer business relationships; and maintain and support the services.
Website and technical information may also be used to understand service use and to support analytics and advertising displayed on web pages, as described below. Information may be processed where necessary to address security issues, comply with applicable legal obligations, or resolve disputes.
TEZ does not use Patron personal information to conduct its own SMS or MMS marketing campaigns.
5 Parking Operators and other recipients
Personal information may be made available to the relevant Operator and its personnel to provide the parking, valet, or related service. TEZ also uses service providers to support functions such as hosting, messaging delivery, technical support, and analytics. Information may be processed by those providers for the functions they perform.
Where an Operator selects or enables a supported integration with an external recipient, information may be transmitted to that recipient for the Operator’s requested workflow. Operators are responsible for evaluating the recipients they select and the permissions they grant, and for establishing an applicable legal basis for the requested disclosure. An external recipient’s independent handling of information is governed by its own applicable notices and obligations, not by this policy. TEZ’s processing and transmission remain subject to applicable law and agreements.
Enabling an integration does not, by itself, establish a Patron’s consent to another organization’s marketing or authorize an otherwise impermissible disclosure. This policy does not guarantee that an Operator will use information only in the same ways TEZ uses it, and does not waive TEZ’s own obligations.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to respond to lawful requests or protect rights and security. In a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, information may be transferred subject to applicable obligations and privacy commitments.
6 SMS and MMS communications
Product and service messaging
The TEZ Platform generates operational SMS and MMS messages on its servers on behalf of Operators for their Patrons. These include digital ticket or parking-session links, service status information, vehicle retrieval notifications, and related operational communications. They are distinct from TEZ employees’ company conversations.
These messages are initiated when a Patron enters a telephone number into a TEZ-powered service or provides it verbally to Operator personnel, who enter it into the TEZ Platform. When a Patron provides a number for the purpose of receiving operational messages, that permission relates to the applicable service or transaction, not unrelated marketing. Operators are responsible for providing required messaging disclosures and obtaining any permission required when collecting numbers for their services.
Operational messages may link to digital parking-session pages that separately display advertising or promotional content, including a marketing ticker. The advertising on those pages is separate from the content of the operational text message.
Company communications
TEZ employees use company telephone numbers, including numbers provided through RingCentral, for human-written conversations with business customers, business contacts, and fellow employees. These conversations may include support discussions, directions, greetings, and coordination. This is a separate communications flow from automated Patron messaging and Operator-directed platform integrations.
These company conversations are not used for TEZ marketing campaigns or unsolicited promotional outreach. Consent for a company conversation does not authorize unrelated Patron messaging or marketing by another organization.
TEZ does not sell or share mobile opt-in information or text-message consent collected for its company communications with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.
Messaging choices
Messaging consent relates to the disclosed conversation, service, or messaging program. Receiving operational messages does not, by itself, constitute consent to receive another organization’s marketing messages.
You may reply STOP to opt out of the applicable text-message conversation or program and HELP for assistance, or contact TEZ using the details below. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. An opt-out in one messaging flow should not be assumed to apply to every separate sender, provider, or Operator communication.
For the program descriptions, sender information, and other messaging details, see the TEZ SMS Messaging Terms.
7 Web advertising and tracking technologies
Digital parking-session pages may display advertising or promotional content. TEZ’s websites and web-based services may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies for website functions, usage analysis, and advertising measurement or display.
The technologies and information involved depend on the page and provider. External analytics and advertising providers may process information under their own privacy notices. Browser settings may allow you to limit certain cookies; disabling cookies may affect website functionality and does not necessarily disable every tracking technology.
Links to external websites take you to services with their own privacy notices. Review those notices when you provide information to an external service.
8 Retention
Personal information is retained for the period reasonably necessary for the relevant service and disclosed purpose, subject to applicable agreements, Operator instructions where TEZ acts on an Operator’s behalf, and legal obligations. Retention may also be affected by transaction records, dispute resolution, legal holds, or backup processes.
9 Security
TEZ uses reasonable safeguards intended to protect information processed through its services, with access limited according to legitimate business and service needs. No system or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
10 Privacy rights and regional disclosures
Scope and where to direct a request
Privacy rights depend on your location, the applicable law, the information involved, and the relevant processing activity. This section applies to covered interactions with U.S. residents and individuals in Canada; it does not limit this policy to particular states, provinces, or territories or represent that every right applies to every interaction.
For Patron information TEZ processes on behalf of the Parking Operator, contact the business operating the parking or valet service. The Operator is responsible for responding to requests concerning information it controls, and TEZ assists as required by applicable law and the relevant agreement. If you do not know which Operator to contact, you may contact TEZ for assistance identifying or reaching the appropriate business. Questions about TEZ’s own website inquiries, business relationships, or company communications may be directed to TEZ.
These rights do not change the allocation of responsibilities described in Section 2 or make TEZ responsible for an Operator’s independent records in other systems. They do not limit TEZ’s obligations for information it processes or discloses.
U.S. privacy rights
Depending on applicable state law, you may have rights to:
- Confirm whether personal information about you is processed and obtain access to it and information about its collection, use, and disclosure.
- Correct inaccurate information and request deletion, subject to applicable exceptions.
- Obtain a copy of information in a portable format where the applicable right provides for it.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information, sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising, processing for targeted advertising, or certain profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, where those rights apply.
- Limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive personal information where applicable law provides that right.
- Appeal a decision declining a privacy request where an appeal right is provided by law.
TEZ will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Exceptions may allow information to be retained or processed for purposes such as completing a requested service, protecting security, complying with law, or resolving legal claims.
Certain laws recognize browser-based opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, as a way to exercise applicable sale/sharing or targeted-advertising opt-out rights. Browser cookie settings alone may not exercise all privacy rights. Privacy opt-outs are distinct from SMS opt-outs; the instructions in Section 6 address stopping applicable text messages.
California residents — CCPA, as amended by the CPRA
Where TEZ is subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”), for the relevant processing, California residents may exercise the applicable rights described above, including rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and receive equal treatment. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to applicable authorization and verification requirements.
The information categories, sources, purposes, recipients, and retention practices described in Sections 3 through 8 provide context for those requests. “Sale” and “sharing” have specific meanings under California law; sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising can occur without a monetary payment. A statement about SMS marketing is not, by itself, a statement about all website tracking or advertising-related disclosures.
When TEZ acts as a service provider for an Operator, requests concerning that Operator’s information are routed as described above. This does not prevent you from contacting TEZ about its own processing.
Canadian privacy rights
For Canadian interactions, rights and responsibilities may arise under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and applicable provincial privacy laws. Coverage is not limited to named provinces or territories.
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access to personal information, an explanation of its use and disclosure, correction of inaccurate or incomplete information, and consideration of a complaint about its handling. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent, subject to applicable legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawal may affect the ability to provide the requested service; any applicable consequences will be explained. Other rights may apply under the relevant law.
For Operator-controlled Patron information, use the Operator request route above. For TEZ’s own processing, direct questions, requests, or privacy complaints to TEZ using the contact details below. You may also raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the relevant provincial privacy regulator, as appropriate to the matter.
Where the applicable service involves processing information outside Canada, the information is subject to the laws of the country in which it is processed and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or other public authorities under those laws. Processing on an Operator’s behalf remains subject to applicable privacy obligations and service arrangements; this paragraph does not authorize new purposes or unrestricted transfers.
Submitting requests and appeals
Email support@teztechnology.com with the subject “Privacy Request,” or contact (469) 453-2001. Describe the request and, where relevant, the parking location or service so it can be routed. Do not include payment-card numbers, passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information in an initial request.
Identity or authority verification may be required for requests such as access, correction, deletion, or portability. Any authentication or verification will be limited to what the applicable request and law permit. TEZ will handle requests within applicable legal response periods, including permitted extensions, and provide explanations for declined requests where required. Requests will be handled without charge where required by law; any permitted charge will be explained before proceeding.
If an applicable law provides a right to appeal a decision TEZ made on a request, email the same address with the subject “Privacy Appeal,” identify the decision, and explain why you seek review. Where required, the response will explain the outcome and how to contact the appropriate regulator. For decisions made by an Operator about information it controls, use that Operator’s appeal or complaint process.
11 Policy updates
TEZ may update this policy and will publish the revised version with an updated date. The policy will also be reviewed and updated as required by applicable law. Additional notice or consent will be provided where required by applicable law or earlier commitments. Updating this policy does not itself authorize a new use of previously collected information that would conflict with those obligations.
